Launching Waterholics Anonymous Blog

California is in the midst of a drought and Southern California in particular is affected by it. Below normal snow packs in the mountains of Northern California, low water storage in major reservoirs, environmental and judicial restraints limiting water pumping from the Sacramento Delta, and drought conditions in 8 of the last 10 years throughout the Colorado River basin are all contributing to the situation we are faced with here.

The San Diego County Water Authority recently issued a Stage 2 Drought Alert mandating water suppliers reduce water consumption by 8%. Water Districts throughout San Diego County are requireing their customers to reduce their water usage. Water rates are going up as much as 35%. Homeowners, businesses, and municipalities are finding ways to conserve water and consequently save money.

I have created this Blog as a forum for us to share our water conservation success stories. Let us know what you have done to save water at your residence or business - both inside and outside with your landscapes. We'd like to know what you have done so others can do the same.

Happy conserving!
